HANOVER, N.H. - Senior
Whitney Douthett (Newtown, Pa.) was named the Ivy League's offensive player of the week for women's lacrosse.
In a pair of Ivy matchups last week, she continued her exceptional season. In the April 18 game against Harvard, she had three goals, three assists, three ground balls, four caused turnovers and one draw control. Dartmouth won, 20-10.
Against Princeton three days later, Douthett had one goal, one assist and five draw controls. She also added one ground ball and one caused turnover to the Dartmouth cause.
The assist against the Tigers gave her the school career record for assists. With 93, Douthett surpassed Jen Greene who had 92 from 1995-98. Douthett also continues to have the nation's third longest point scoring streak with 52 games. That's the best among Ivy League players.
Douthett recently was named one of 17 nominees for the Tewaaraton Trophy, which is presented annually to the best collegiate player in the nation.
With an 8-5 overall record, Dartmouth returns to action on Wednesday, April 25, traveling to Boston University for a 6 p.m. game.
