Princeton, N.J. - Three members of the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team have been voted All-Ivy by the league's head coaches, highlighted by senior Kristen Barry's (Duxbury, Mass.) selection to the first team.
Midfielder Greta Meyer (Denver, Colo.) and attack Kat Collins (Darien, Conn.), both freshmen, were named second team and honorable mention All-Ivy, respectively.
A four-year starter at attack, Barry has been named All-Ivy in each of her four years at Dartmouth and this marks her second-straight first team nod. This season, she led the Big Green's attack, tallying a team-high 49 points while also leading the squad in goals with 37 and assists with 12. She graduates as one of the most potent offensive players ever to wear the Green and White, ranking fourth in career points with 177 and fourth in career goals with 146.
Meyer burst onto the scene this year and made an immediate impact all over the field for Dartmouth. One of just four players to start all 16 games, Meyer led the Big Green in draw controls with 41 and caused turnovers with 18. She ranked second on the squad in groundballs with 34 and tallied 31 points (21 goals, 10 assists).
Collins had a great freshman season for the Big Green as well, emerging as more of a threat as the year went on. She finished ranked second on the team in scoring with 44 points on 34 goals and 10 assists. Collins had her biggest game of the season in the upset of #2 Princeton when she recorded seven points including five goals.
The Big Green closed out the 2008 campaign with a 7-9 mark (3-4 Ivy) after playing a schedule that rated the nation's fourth-strongest. Dartmouth graduates four seniors, including Barry, from this year's team but brings back nine starters to the fold.
