Shoemaker Leads Men's Cross Country Team to First Place Finish

KEENE, N.H. - Jake Shoemaker (Sudbury, Mass.) left the competitors in his dust on Saturday as he finished first at the 16th annual Keene State Invitational to lead the Dartmouth squad to first place. The junior crossed the finish line at 26:01, eight seconds ahead of his closest competitor. The Dartmouth squad punished the competition as they took eight of the top nine spots.
Shoemaker's teammates were hot on his trail as freshman Will Geoghegan (Brunswick Maine) finished third (26:09), freshman Henry Sterling (South Freeport, Maine) took fourth (26:!2), junior Dylan Summers (Wolfeboro, N.H.) placed fifth (26:21) and sophomore Mike Danaher completed the Big Green scoring by finishing sixth. The Big Green finished the event with 20 points, 52 points ahead of second place finisher RPI.
The Big Green look to build upon their victory at the New England Championships on Saturday, Oct. 9, at Boston, Mass.
