at Head of the Charles
Dartmouth College

Delaware/St. Joseph's

4/10/2010 4:31:00 PM | Men's Lightweight Rowing
The Dartmouth varsity eight (3-1) was just barely beaten out by Delaware, who finished in a time of 5:36.9 ahead of the Big Green's 5:38.8, but defeated St. Joe's in a time of 5:45.7.
Dartmouth's second varsity eight carried the banner on the day, finishing just under 2.6 seconds ahead of Delaware in a time of 5:49.6 to win its race.
The freshman eight actually finished a close second in its race, but picked up a win nonetheless after the Delaware crew was disqualified for a buoy infraction. The Big Green finished in 5:48.8 for the win, while Delaware had been 2.7 seconds faster. St. Joseph's took third in 6:09.7.
Delaware won the freshman four race in 6:49.4 ahead of the Dartmouth B boat in 6:52.8 and then the Dartmouth A boat in 7:00.9.
The crews raced in conditions that head coach Dan Roock described as "wickedly fast" with a strong tailwind and tail current.
The Big Green will spend the next two Saturdays at home, hosting Harvard and MIT for the Biglin Bowl next week.
