Basketball Assistant Mary Gleason Named Head Coach at Houston Baptist

Hanover, N.H. - After three successful seasons at Dartmouth including two Ivy Championships, assistant coach Mary Gleason will return to her hometown as head coach of the Houston Baptist women's basketball program.
In three seasons with the Big Green, Gleason helped Dartmouth win two Ivy Championships in 2007-08 and 2008-09. Dartmouth advanced to the Women's NIT in 2008 and the NCAA Tournament in 2009. Gleason helped mentor five All-Ivy players who earned recognition eight times in three years.
Growing up just miles from the Houston Baptist campus and playing her collegiate ball at Southern Methodist, Gleason will be returning to coach in her home state for the first time in her career.
"I'm ecstatic to be coming home and being a part of an exciting new chapter in HBU women's basketball," said Gleason. "The excitement of building a new tradition at HBU on a Division I level is what really attracted me. It's in a great city and the enthusiasm of the leadership at HBU is great."
