WORCESTER, Mass. - The Dartmouth lightweight crew had a solid showing at the
Eastern Sprints, sending all five boats to Grand Finals.
The Sprints were raced on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.
The varsity eight had a great day, winning its heat in a time of 5:52.442. The
Big Green lost a heartbreaker to Harvard in the Grand Final, taking second in a
time of 5:46.848 behind the Crimson in 5:45.358. Dartmouth defeated Yale,
Princeton, Cornell and Navy in the race.
The second varsity eight took third in its heat, good for a
spot in the Grand Final, in which the Big Green took sixth just behind Navy in
6:11.445. The third varsities raced a Grand Final in which Dartmouth placed
seventh in 6:29.294.
Dartmouth's rookies also advanced to the Grand Final, taking third in their
heat before finishing sixth in the final in a time of 6:23.4. The second
freshmen rowed a five-crew Grand Final, with Dartmouth taking second to Navy in
a time of 6:18.69.
