PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Tasha Wilkins and junior Corey Delaney both scored for the Dartmouth women's soccer team, but Princeton tied the game twice resulting in a 2-2 (2OT) contest on Saturday evening.
Dartmouth (3-3-3, 0-0-2 Ivy) held two separate leads, but Princeton (2-3-3, 0-1-1 Ivy) tied the contest on two separate occasions forcing overtime. Princeton finished the contest with 20-14 edge in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks.
In the 10th minute, junior Lucielle Kozlov had a pair of opportunities stops, first by Darcy Hargadon and then a defensive stop by the backline. In the 13th minute on passes from freshman Lindsay Knutson and junior Lucielle Kozlov to Delaney for her first of the season.
After the Dartmouth goal, Princeton came back with shots by Liana Cornacchio and Natalie Larkin. The Tigers tied the game in the 23rd on a penalty kick by Tyler Lussi. Dartmouth added its second of the half 13 minutes later in the 36th on a cross by sophomore Jessica Lukas to Wilkins.
In the 49th minute, Kozlov had a chance to increase the Big Green lead, but Hargadon made her fourth save of the contest.
Princeton moved the ball back into the Big Green zone with shots from Mikaela Symanovich and Beth Stella. Moments after Stella's shot, Lussi tied the game once again in the 62nd on a one-time pass from Larkin and Symanovich.
In the first overtime period, Wilkins and Princeton's Vanessa Gregorie each had shots blocked. Wilkins and Kozlov tried to end the game in the second overtime, but Hargadon made her seventh and eighth stave of the night. Her counterpart, Dartmouth Senior Tatiana Saunders made six saves in the contest.
Dartmouth hosts Yale next Saturday at 7 p.m.
