BURLINGTON, VT. – Senior Tasha Wilkins scored a pair of goals and sophomore goalkeeper Casey Cousineau made three saves, as the Dartmouth women's soccer team defeated Twin State rival Vermont, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Virtue Field.

The Big Green improve to 3-2-1 this season and are on a four-game unbeaten streak after dropping their first two games at the Husky/Nike Invitational.

“I am excited about how we got contributions from everyone today,” head coach Ron Rainey said. “The team has the right mentality and we hope that carries through to our first Ivy League game.”

Dartmouth came out aggressive and outshot the Catamounts, 21-7, and owned the corner set pieces, 10-1. Wilkins' first goal came in the 34th minute after freshman Bianca Ribi had her initial shot stopped by Ally Ramos. Wilkins then put home the rebound for her first of the season to give the Big Green a 1-0 lead.

Dartmouth had a six-shot (11-5) and four-corner kick (5-1) edge at the break, as the visitors made Ramos work both sides of the cage.

In the second, the offensive duo of junior Lucielle Kozlov and freshman Lindsay Knutson connected again, as Kozlov finished a thru ball pass from Knutson inside the six-yard box for her team-best third goal of the season in the 57th minute.

Leading 2-0, Dartmouth added two more goals in a three-minute span. In the 72nd minute, freshman Melanie Vangel regained her own rebound for her first collegiate goal. Dartmouth increased its lead to four on Wilkins' second tally of the night after she blasted a shot from the top of the penalty area.

Playing in her second game this season, Cousineau made three stops in 82 minutes before freshman Katie Fuhs completed the game.

Dartmouth will have a bit of a rest period before meeting Brown next Sunday at Burnham Field. The game is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
