THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth women's rugby team plays host to Harvard in its final regular season home game of the fall when the two teams meet at Brophy Field Saturday at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green defeated Princeton, 23-5, in the team's most recent outing. Senior Yejadai Dunn led the team with two tries in the game versus the Tigers, helping Dartmouth to its third straight Ivy win. Senior flyhalf Tatjana Toeldte added a try of her own and a penalty kick as time expired in the first half to aid the home team's scoring efforts.
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson come to Hanover with a 3-1 overall record to match that of the Big Green. However, Harvard dropped a 44-17 contest at Brown on Sept. 26 to give them a 2-1-0 record in Ivy play and is tied with Cornell for third with nine points. The Crimson offense is clicking like it never has before through four games, amassing a program-record 168 points in that stretch, thanks in large part to an unbelievable 111-5 home win against archrival Yale on Sept. 19.
AGAINST THE CRIMSON
These teams met three times last year with Dartmouth winning each affair. The Green won the fall contest, 11-5, in Cambridge, before earning victories of 26-14 and 15-0 in two Ivy 7's Championship contests in mid-April.
WHAT THE COACH SAYS
“We have a lot to play for this weekend against Harvard. They are a good side, but we are determined to set the tone of the match and force the Crimson to play Dartmouth Rugby. Our focus this week is on playing as one team, with one mind, and trusting each other to do our jobs. We are excited to make our returning alumae proud!” – Head Coach Katie Dowty
HONORING ARCHAMBAULT
At halftime of Saturday's game, Dartmouth Athletics will honor long-time women's rugby head coach Debra Archambault '85 on her retirement this past year. Former and current players, teammates, friends, parents and fellow Big Green staff members will be on hand to thank Archambault for all she has done to promote women's rugby during her time at Dartmouth and wish her well in all future endeavors.
AGAINST THE ALMA MATER
Saturday marks the first time against her alma mater for first-year head coach Katie Dowty. A 2006 graduate of Harvard, Dowty is a former player and captain with the Crimson. After graduation, she moved on to the nearby Beantown Rugby Club from 2006 to 2011, where she served as a player, captain and fundraising chair.
WHAT'S AHEAD?
The Big Green will close out the fall's regular season on Oct. 31 at Yale in a game now scheduled for 10 a.m.
