GAME 6
DARTMOUTH BIG GREEN (4-1, 4-0 Ivy League) vs.
YALE BULLDOGS (2-2, 2-2 Ivy League)
Saturday, October 31, 2015 – 10 a.m.
New Haven, Conn. – Yale Rugby Pitch
THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth women's rugby team travels to Yale for its final regular season game of the fall, taking on the Bulldogs at 10 a.m. on Halloween.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green held off a resurgent Harvard team on Oct. 17 at Brophy Field in the most recent outing for the team. In the end, Dartmouth earned a 20-15 victory against the visiting Crimson. Two second-half tries from Alex Stendahl proved to be crucial as they produced the only Big Green points of the stanza, giving them enough breathing room to hold on for the 'W'.
SCOUTING YALE
The Bulldogs enter the contest with Dartmouth boasting a 2-2 Ivy record and 11 points in the standings, good for fourth most. The Elis are coming off an 80-26 domination of Penn in their most recent game two weeks ago and have won two straight after beating Columbia, 22-5, seven days before that. Their two losses have come to Cornell in a nail biter, 27-21, as well as a lopsided defeat at Harvard, 111-5.
WHAT THE COACH SAYS
“Yale is a team on the rise and we cannot look past them. We have our sights set on finishing undefeated in league play and claiming the 1st seed headed into the Ivy Championship next week, and that means doing all the little things right against Yale on Saturday.” – Head Coach Katie Dowty
STILL UNBEATEN
The Big Green remain the only unbeaten team in Ivy Rugby following the five-point victory against Harvard. Brown has a two-point edge in points, 21-19, but only because it has played one more game than the Dartmouth, the only team to beat the Bears this season. Every other program in the conference has at least two losses on its schedule this fall.
OLD FAITHFULS
In terms of scoring dependability, no one on the Big Green's roster has been more consistent all season than seniors Yejadai Dunn and Tatjana Toeldte. Each added to their season totals with tries in the first half of the win against Harvard when the home team was building its lead that proved too much to overcome.
WHAT'S AHEAD?
Dartmouth will host the 2015 Ivy Rugby Championship next weekend, Nov. 7-8 at Brophy Field. A complete schedule of times and match-ups will be announced early next week.
