GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Dartmouth senior co-captain Jaclyn Leto was one of two student-athletes to be named Division I Player of the Week by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), announced Wednesday night on the Lacrosse Sports Network's Fast Break.
Leto shares the weekly accolade with Stony Brook sophomore Kylie Ohlmiller.
This is the fourth honor of the week for Leto as she was also named Ivy League Offensive and Co-Defensive Player of the Week as well as National Player of the Week by Lacrosse Magazine. Additionally, the Chatham, New Jersey, native was tabbed as the DartmouthSports.com Female Athlete of the Week for the second time this spring.
Leto is the first-ever Ivy to be named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in the same week, and the first to receive both honors in the same season since Penn's Emma Spiro in 2009.
The honors come on the heels of a week that saw Leto score nine goals, including one game winner to go along with three ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers against No. 8 USC and No. 16 Penn.
Leto followed up her hat trick in LA on Wednesday by scoring six times in Dartmouth's first win against Penn since 2012 with the 10-9 victory on Easter Sunday. Her biggest play of the day — and maybe her career — was when she knocked down a centering pass in the final seconds and tracked down the ground ball to seal the win against the Quakers.
Leto and her teammates are back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. at Harvard. The game will be carried live on both the Ivy League Digital Network as well as NESNplus.
