HANOVER, N.H. – The Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Hockey
Bob Gaudet '81 has announced the three players who will wear letters in 2018-19 as captains.
Â
For the second straight year, senior
Kevan Kilistoff will wear the 'C' on his sweater as the team captain. Prior to last season, Kilistoff was named the 119th captain in team history. As a junior, Kilistoff had career highs in both goals (6) and points (12), and led the team with three game winners in his 28 games played.
Â
Joining Kilistoff as alternate captains with an 'A' on their sweaters are seniors
Connor Yau and
Carl Hesler.
Â
Yau is the team's leading scorer amongst returning defensemen with 10 points — all assists — from a season ago. The Algonquin, Illinois, native played in 34 games last year and is just nine shy of joining the 100-games played mark. In those 91 contests, Yau has amassed 33 points (6-27-33) with his biggest coming in overtime of Game 1 of the 2016 Quarterfinals at Yale when his shot from the point 17:14 into sudden death gave the Big Green a 1-0 series lead en route to a sweep.
Â
For Hesler, this is his second time wearing a letter. The native of Boxborough, Massachusetts, gives Dartmouth a wealth of leadership. In 94 career games, Hesler has 37 points on 16 goals and 21 helpers. This season gives him the opportunity to play with his younger brother
Sam Hesler, a freshman forward in 2018-19.
Â
Kilistoff, Yau, Hesler and the rest of the Big Green begin the 2018-19 campaign with a preseason exhibition game against the US National Team Development Program on Monday, Oct. 22 before starting the regular season against Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 27.
