READY FOR THE RAMBLERS
Dartmouth will get on a plane for the first time this season and make a trip to Chicago for two games. First up are the Ramblers from Loyola Chicago on Wednesday night. The Big Green are coming off their first loss of the season, while the Ramblers enter the contest with a perfect 6-0 record.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Big Green trailed by as many as 19 points late in the first half and fought back to cut the deficit to three midway through the fourth quarter, but ended up falling to Manhattan, 70-58.
- Dartmouth outscored Manhattan 18-12 in the third quarter and 36-33 in the second half.
- The opening minutes put the Big Green in a hole, after Anna Luce sunk a 3-pointer, the Jaspers went on a 15-0 run and never relinquished the lead.
- Three Big Green players were in double figures.
- Anna Luce was the top scorer for the Big Green with 16 points and five steals, it was the second time that Luce led the team in points this year.
- Annie McKenna had another complete game, she finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
- Katie Douglas came away with 10 points off the bench on 4-6 shooting.
- Despite being held to single digits for the first time this year, Paula Lenart had six points, nine rebounds and five steals.
- Dartmouth was held to 39.0 percent shooting, while Manhattan shot 47.9 percent and sunk 10 from beyond the arc.
SECOND HALF TEAM
- With the exception of the Merrimack game, Dartmouth has played its best basketball in the second half so far this season.
- The most notable example of this was the Big Green outscoring Vermont, 47-27, in the opener to run away with a convincing win.
- Dartmouth then won the second half, 27-22, in a comeback victory at Manhattan.
- Even in a loss, Dartmouth made it a game at Manhattan by winning the second half.
STARTING FRESH
- Asha Taylor made her first career start Sunday afternoon at Fairfield.
- It was the first time that the starting five has changed this season.
- Taylor finished with seven points, two rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes of action.
- On the season, Taylor is fourth on the team in scoring with 7.3 ppg and is fifth with 3.3 rpg.
CAREER HIGHS
- Three players set career highs against Manhattan.
- Annie McKenna grabbed eight rebounds, seven defensive and one offensive, beating her seven boards from Nov. 11 of last season against Vermont.
- Anna Luce had five steals, which brings her total to eight on the season.
- Paula Lenart also came away with five steals. She now had nine this year and had at least one steal in each game.
TOP-10
- Annie McKenna is in the top 10 in the Ivy League in both scoring and assists. She leads the league with 5.3 apg and is eighth with 13.5 ppg.
- Anna Luce is the tenth highest scorer in the conference at 13.3 ppg.
- Paula Lenart is third in rebounding with 8.3 rpg and leads the conference with 4.0 offensive rpg.
- Elle Louie ranks sixth in the league with 1.3 blocks per game, while Lenart and Luce are fourth and fifth in steals per game.
SCOUTING LOYOLA CHICAGO
- The Ramblers are off to their best start in school history with a perfect record of 6-0.
- Perhaps more impressive, Loyola Chicago has only played one home game and have won four straight on the road, with its last two being overtime thrillers.
- Loyola Chicago has one of the most prolific offenses in the country, ranking 21st in scoring with 80.3 ppg. Its average margin of victory is 18.5 ppg, which is 33rd in the nation.
- Abby O'Connor leads the way with 13.7 ppg and eight rpg.
- Not far behind are Allison Day (13.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg) and Janae Gonzales (13.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg).
- Six more members of the team average at least five ppg.
- Tiara Wallace leads the team with 4.1 apg.
- Sunday marks the first home game for Loyola Chicago since Nov. 8.
LOYOLA CHICAGO'S LAST TIME OUT
- The Ramblers erased a 13-point second-half deficit to force overtime and eventually defeat Portland, 78-64.
- Loyola Chicago outscored Portland 25-12 in the fourth quarter.
- Four players scored in double figures led by Ellie Rice who had 17 and 12 rebounds.
- Abby O'Connor finished with 16, Allison Day tallied 14 and eight boards and Tiara Wallace had 11.
- Loyola Chicago only turned the ball over 13 times in the game.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE RAMBLERS
- This will be just the fourth meeting between Dartmouth and Loyola Chicago.
- The Ramblers lead the series, 2-1.
- Dartmouth fell in the first two meetings at Loyola, 87-50 in 1985, and 56-52 in 2013.
- It wasn't until 2014 that Dartmouth beat the Ramblers, 70-58, in Hanover.
