HANOVER, N.H. – Another Monday means another Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team.
Â
On Monday afternoon, the league office tabbed junior goalkeeper
Kiera Vrindten as the top defensive player in the Ancient Eight. Vrindten joins
Kathryn Giroux and
Claire Marshall as the third Big Green player to be recognized as such in as many weeks.
Â
Vrindten returned from an injury that had sidelined her for two weeks and came up huge in net for Dartmouth in a 15-11 win against Harvard on Saturday to remain perfect in Ivy play in 2019 at 3-0.
Â
Vrindten stopped eight shots to pick up her second league victory of the season, stopping four in each half of play. The junior also chipped in with a pair of ground balls in the game.
Â
Last year's Ivy League Goalkeeper of the Year, Vrindten is no stranger to conference accolades, however, this is her first weekly award from the league office.
Â
Vrindten and her teammates play host to UConn Tuesday afternoon in a rescheduled game from last month. Opening draw from Scully-Fahey Field is set for 3 p.m. Dartmouth returns to league play this weekend when Princeton comes to town Saturday at 1 p.m.
