FRIDAY NIGHT VS CORNELL
- Dartmouth defeated Cornell in overtime at Leede Arena, 82-79.
- It was the first OT game for the Big Green since Feb. 15, 2018 at Yale, the Big Green also won that game.
- The win over the Big Red marks the first season sweep over the team from Ithaca since the 2009-10 season.
- Annie McKenna made the go-ahead layup with 35 seconds left in regulation and Cornell sent the game to OT in the final seconds.
- Elle Louie then had a key block with 16 seconds left in OT to secure the win.
- McKenna led the Big Green with 17 points, matched her career-high of nine assists and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Anna Luce was in double figures with 16 points and grabbed four boards.
- Jimena Abejon finished with 13 points off the bench.
- 32 bench-points was the most all season for Dartmouth.
SATURDAY NIGHT VS COLUMBIA
- A slow first-quarter was the difference against Columbia as Dartmouth fell, 62-50, on Saturday.
- The Big Green fell behind 17-7 after the first 10 minutes and never recovered.
- McKenna was the only member for Dartmouth in double figures with 15 points and led the team with seven rebounds and four assists.
- Asha Taylor finished with nine points off the bench, while Anna Luce and Katie Douglas each tallied six.
- Two players for Columbia finished with double-doubles. Abby Hsu had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Hannah Pratt finished with 13 points and 12 boards off the bench.
- Dartmouth made it interesting in the fourth quarter, closing a 26-point gap to 12.
WINNING THE CLOSE ONES
- Dartmouth is 5-0 in games decided by five-points-or-fewer.
- Those wins came against Merrimack (57-52), Fairfield (52-51), Harvard (63-62) and Cornell twice (67-65, 82-79 OT).
- Dartmouth led by 15 with 3:15 left in regulation against Merrimack early in the season and held off a comeback attempt by the Warriors.
- The Big Green then made a comeback of their own at Fairfield and clawed back from being down 10 in the third quarter.
- Harvard at home made Dartmouth 1-0 in the Ivy League at the time. It was close throughout and Douglas stole the ball and tipped it to McKenna for the game-winning layup.
- The Big Green then trailed by 10 with seven minutes left at Cornell and Elle Louie made the game-winning layup with 13 seconds on the clock.
- Most recently at home versus Cornell, Dartmouth staved off the Big Red for an overtime win.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
- As the year has progressed, the younger players have seen more minutes and have showed flashes of what the future holds in Hanover.
- Allie Harland has made an impact as a freshman; she has scored in double figures twice this season against Penn and Yale and has gone 10-of-35 from beyond the arc.
- Karina Mitchell is an exciting player in the backcourt as well who shows a ton of upside and athletic ability.
- Let's not forget that Katie Douglas, Asha Taylor, Jimena Abejon and Gerogia Alexander are only wrapping up their sophomore seasons along with Veronica Kelly, who has proved to be a go-to scorer in the post.
- We can also look forward to seeing freshmen Emma Koch and Kaiyah Corona on the court next season, as both missed this year due to injury.
