"Big Green Classic" Showcases Dartmouth Versus Cornell on Friday

HANOVER, N.H. — "Big Green Classic" — a series of Dartmouth events from the past two years that are being streamed once again on ESPN+ — returns this week with the men's basketball game at Leede Arena from Feb. 15, 2020, when Dartmouth hosted Cornell. The broadcast will be available on the Worldwide Leader in Sports' platform on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Big Green entered the game riding a high from a last-second, 65-63 victory over Columbia the previous night as junior Aaryn Rai capped a 9-0 run over the final 6:50 of the game with a short hook in the lane and less than a second showing on the clock. That gave the wing a double-double of 11 points and rebounds, while Chris Knight supplied 23 points on 10-of-11 from the floor. Knight would go on to be named the Ivy League Player of the Week after that weekend for the first of two times on the season.

Cornell, meanwhile, suffered a 22-point defeat at Harvard the night before, but did have a solid win over Princeton the previous weekend under its belt. Jimmy Boeheim, son of long-time Syrcause head coach Jim Boeheim, was the Big Red's leading scorer entering the weekend at over 18 points a game, while Terrance McBride and Josh Warren also produced in double digits.

This is the eighth of 13 games that will be streamed on the ESPN+ platform this winter. Each of the events are available for viewing for 30 days after it airs with a subscription to the service. The complete schedule of events is listed below.
