Dartmouth (8-3, 0-2) at Princeton (8-2, 2-0)
Dartmouth won the first two points, but a lengthy Princeton run put the home team ahead (4-10). The Big Green had a 4-1 rally of its own made up of kills by
Taite Ryan and
Natalie Grover and two Tiger errors to start to close the gap (9-14). Princeton went on another long streak, but Meldrum was able to add a kill before the set was done (10-25).
Â
The start of the second was closer and an 8-1 run from kills by Blain,
Bomi Ogunlari,
Nicole Liddle and Meldrum gave the Big Green the lead (11-8). After Princeton tied things up, kills by Grover and Ogunlari put the Green back in front (18-16). The Tigers found their way back and ended the set with another rally (22-25).
Â
Dartmouth looked good to open the third, and some Princeton errors paired with Liddle kills got the Big Green within two (8-10). The Tigers took off after that and soon had a 19-9 edge. Blain, Ogunlari and Liddle got some kills in there before Princeton won the final set (16-25).
Â
The Big Green will take on the Penn Quakers at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
