HANOVER, N.H. – As the season opener at Fordham quickly approaches, the Ivy League announced its preseason poll on Wednesday, which sees the Dartmouth men's basketball team come in seventh place. The Big Green are coming off a fifth-place finish a season ago, narrowly missing the Ivy League Tournament.
A close poll saw Penn come in first with 111 points and six first-place votes. Right behind was Princeton with 110 points (also six first-place votes), defending Ivy League Tournament Champion Yale with 106 points (three first-place votes) and Harvard with 86 points (one first-place vote). Following the Crimson were Cornell (54 points), Brown (53), Dartmouth (31) and Columbia (25).Â
The Big Green lose multiple key contributors from last year's squad, but also return a strong group as well – featuring experienced players, returners looking to increase their roles and a talented group of freshmen.
Dame Adelekun leads the way as a returning starter, who averaged 7.8 points and 6.4 rebounds a season ago. Among the other returnees are
Ryan Cornish and Robert McCrae III, who averaged 7.3 and 5.0 points, respectively.
