HANOVER, N.H. – Five players from the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team received All-Ivy recognition, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Junior
Katie Elders was named Second Team All-Ivy. Freshmen
Katina Christensen,
Maja Desmond, and
Gisele Todd received honorable mention honors. Additionally, senior
Emma Macaione was named to the Academic All-Ivy team.
Elders receives the All-Ivy honor after leading the team in scoring with 33 goals and 37 points in just 12 games. She scored in all but one game and finished with seven hat-tricks. In the 22-6 win over Columbia, Elders finished with a career-high seven goals and nine points, tying the program record for points in an Ivy League game.
Christensen finished second in scoring with 28 goals and 32 points. She had three hat-tricks in her debut campaign and had at least five points in each of those games. Christensen scored a career-high seven goals against Columbia, breaking her previous career-high of six goals against Merrimack earlier in the season.
Desmond was a key cog in the midfield for the Big Green, leading the team in caused turnovers (17), draw controls (47), and was second in ground balls (36). She was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after a performance in which she had three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and nine draw controls.
Todd was a mainstay in the Dartmouth goal, appearing in all 15 games. She finished with 129 saves, a save percentage of .427, and had a goals against average of 12.91, in addition to having a team-high 37 ground balls. Todd had six games in which she had double-digit saves, including a career-high 18 against Northwestern.
Macaione earns a spot on the Academic All-Ivy team for her work on the field and in the classroom. A sociology major with a 3.50 GPA, Macaione started all 15 games for the Big Green, finishing with 14 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and one goal.
