HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's rugby team rolled to a 47-10 victory over Quinnipiac in its home opener on Saturday afternoon, meeting the Bobcats for the first time since the 2022 NIRA semifinal.
The Big Green improved to 3-0, while Quinnipiac dropped to 1-2 on the season.
Katelyn Walker electrified the home crowd with two tries, including an 80-meter sprint, and
Asialeata Meni also recorded a pair of tries to pace the Big Green offense. Dartmouth held a commanding 33-0 lead at halftime and the lead grew to 40-0 in the second half before Quinnipiac was on the board.
Nicole Ihensekhien opened the scoring a little more than five minutes in with her fourth try of the season and Walker extended the lead 10 minutes later, sprinting nearly the length of the field to paydirt. Freshman
Hehea Pulotu's try was sandwiched between Meni scores, all coming in a span of nine minutes, to close the half.
Walker scored once again to open the second half scoring and
Jordan Duncan accounted for Dartmouth's final try of the dominant win.
Abby Kayser was good on both conversions following those tries. She and
Abbey Savin both totaled three conversions.
The Big Green have won six straight over the Bobcats, dating back to the start of the 2018 season.
