HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team won 1-0 against Marshall in the season opener at Burnham Field this evening. Scoring the game-winning goal was fifth-year, Daisy Granholm.
"I think we battled well. It was an emotional, high-paced, college soccer game. And I think our team, we showed our core, showed our foundation, showed our resilience. And to me, that's what I'm most proud of," said Taylor Schram, the Stacy Branca '94 Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer.
With the win, the Big Green open the season 1-0. Meanwhile, the Thundering Herd fall to 0-1-1.
In the first minute of the game, Dartmouth made its way to the attacking third. With a spin move by sophomore Frankie Valverde, Valverde passed it off to Granholm to put one right past the keeper.
