Taylor Williams scored her first career goal

HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team won 4-1 against Merrimack on Sunday afternoon in the second home game of the year at Burnham Field. The Big Green scored three times in the second half to seal the victory.

With the win, Dartmouth improves to 2-0. Meanwhile, Merrimack falls to 1-2. This win improves the Big Green's all-time record to 7-0 between the programs.

In the 12^th minute of the game, senior Hannah Curtin crossed the ball to find fifth-year Daisy Granholm, as she headed the ball past the keeper for her second goal of the season, 1-0. Nearing the end of the first half in the 28^th minute, the Warriors found the equalizer heading into halftime, 1-1.

Opening the second half, the Big Green were hungry for another scoring opportunity. Dartmouth kept breaking down the Merrimack defense and capitalized on a corner kick. In the 56^th minute, fifth-year Taylor Williams scored her first career goal with the help of teammates, Granholm and fifth-year Carly Retterer, 2-1. Two minutes later, Retterer scored the Big Green's third goal finding the top right corner, to extend the lead by two, 3-1. Sealing the win, first-year Emmanuella Frimpomaa found senior Ella Russ to score the final goal of the game, 4-1.

Dartmouth outshot Merrimack 20-8 and held an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Big Green also had the advantage in corner kicks over the Warriors 8-3.

Goalkeeper Ally Connors faced eight shots and collected four saves in the win.

The Big Green return to play on Thursday, August 29 at 7 p.m. at Burnham Field. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
