HOUSTON, Texas - Maya Kendall hit a major career milestone en route to Dartmouth's 20-10 victory over Arizona State at Scotty Caven Field on Friday afternoon.Â
Kendall surpassed 200 career draw controls, which is good for the second most in program history. She won 15 draw controls to bring her career total to 206, placing her at fifth all-time in the Ivy League.Â
Emma Goodwin recorded her first collegiate hat trick, totaling four goals to end the afternoon. In her homecoming game, Katina Christensen also had a hat trick. Mia Puccio found the net three times as well for her first hat trick of the season.Â
"I'm just overall proud of a lot of the performances, we had a lot of first years make an impact and do really well," Josie Harper Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse Alex McFadden said. "We're in a non-traditional area and we're fortunate that we get a lot of recruits from this area and so we wanted to put our best version of Dartmouth lacrosse forward."
The Sun Devils struck first, scoring the opening goal in the first 30 seconds of the game. The Big Green didn't shy away, returning the favor with two goals to gain the lead. The pair were neck and neck for the remainder of the first half.
Coming out of halftime, the Big Green went on a 7-0 run to make the score 17-9 heading into the final period. Dartmouth only allowed one last Arizona State goal before scoring three to bring the final score to 20-10.Â
The Big Green will wrap up their stretch of neutral site games on Sunday when they host Colorado at the University of Houston.Â
