Men's Lightweight Rowing
at Cornell
Q and A with Kristin Eberhart
Why Dartmouth?
I grew up spending summers in the Lakes Region and I love the area, but I was mainly drawn to the size of the student body and the emphasis Dartmouth places on providing an excellent undergraduate education.
How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I walked on to the lightweight team freshman fall. Some of my closest friends in high school were rowers, and it was all they talked about. A high school teacher had also encouraged me to try coxing, so I did -- and I'm still here!
Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
No...but I will win the crash-Ds coxswain event this year, I guarantee it.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I play the piano and alto sax and I'm really good at crossword puzzles. And I can recite Casey at the Bat and the Cremation of Sam McGee from memory.
What other activities do you participate in on campus?
I worked for the Dartmouth Outing Club trail crew last summer and I'm a new member educator in my sorority.
What are your future plans, if any.
I hope to go to law school after taking a few years off to adventure and do some soul-searching. During that time I want to:
- be a ski bum out west
- hike the pacific crest trail
- work in outdoor education
- visit all 50 states
- hike the inca trail
- run a marathon
- travel Europe
