Q&A with Phil Gordon
Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because of the incredible students. Everyone was welcoming and it was easy to see myself spending my college experience with such easy-going people.
How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I started rowing my the Spring of my freshman year in high school. My dad rowed for Brown Universityand almost all of my family rowed throughout highschool.
Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
At my high school graduation I received a gold medal for outstanding performance in Calculus.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I was struck by a pick-up truck my on my second day of high school, thus giving me the greatest ice breaker a nervous freshman could ask for.
What other activities do you participate in on campus?
I am a member of the Catholic society, the Knights of Columbus, and often help out with the Dartmouth School Pride group known as the Mean Green. I also play a number of IM sports.
What are your future plans, if any.
I am currently on the pre-med track and plan on going to medical school after Dartmouth. I am not sure where just yet.
