Q&A with Joseph Schwappach

Why Dartmouth?

I chose Dartmouth because of the multifaceted people and the unique balance between academic endeavors and an exciting social scene.

How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I just started rowing this September and was initially drawn into the sport because of the opportunity to physically challenge myself everyday.

Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
Unfortunately no, but I will be sure to update this site when I do!

Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.

My teammates might be surprised by the fact I have yet to take a swim in the Connecticut, the river we row on every day its not frozen.

What other activities do you participate in on campus?
I am a member of the Class of 2013 Class Council and a Catholic men's group called the Knights of Columbus.

What are your future plans, if any.
I have yet to declare my major so I am excited to explore all that Dartmouth has to offer over the next four years. After college I plan to spend a couple of years working abroad and then settling down in the wonderful state of Colorado.
