Q & A with Avery Salinger
Why Dartmouth?
I loved Dartmouth from the first time I visited. The campus and Hanover itself make up what I believe to be the perfect college town, and academically it is a very strong institution. Scenic beauty, the D-plan, and proximity to home also played big factors in my decision.
How long have you been rowing and what sparked your interest?
I took up rowing my senior year in high school. My dad rowed for Princeton so I was somewhat familiar with the sport initially and was always interested in trying it. I decided to finally join a local club senior year when my interest in tennis declined and because I wanted to walk-on in college.
Something interesting about yourself?
I enjoy filmmaking and made short documentaries throughout high school, winning a number of awards in the process.
