Q&A with Ian Brackbill
Why Dartmouth?
?I chose Dartmouth because of its wide range of opportunity. I feel like I can do anything here. My father also attended Dartmouth, so it's special to share that with him.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?? ?
My freshman fall was my first experience rowing. I was interested because my grandfather rowed for the Naval Academy, and he excelled there. The sport means a great deal to him; it's extremely meaningful to pursue something from which he drew such strength and encouragement. I hope to follow his footsteps.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates??? ?
I have seven siblings, and I love each one of them.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?? ?
I'm in the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra. I'm also involved in various Christian groups on campus.
What are your future plans, if any?
?I'm on the pre-med track right now, so we'll see how long that lasts. At some point, I'd love to return to Germany and spend an extended period of time there.
