Made her collegiate debut against Columbia on March 24...Finished the season with
35:42 of action over five games in the circle for the Big Green...Posted a
goals-against average of 15.13 and a .357 save percentage in her five
appearances...Turned aside three Syracuse shots during the regular season contest
in the Carrier Dome in nearly eleven and a half minutes of play...Made two stops
against Niagara on April 16...Saw 3:59 of action against Syracuse in the NCAA
Tournament.

Daughter of Steven Szafman and Michelle Kunzman … Has one brother … Also a black belt in tae kwan do.
Patton on Szafman: Julia will have unlimited potential at Dartmouth. She's athletic and very coachable, which we look for in goalkeepers.

What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
My
friend and I decided to hike the AT for three days at the beginning of the fall
without a map or plan, we set up camp wherever we could and slept outside, it
was great.
What is your guilty pleasure?
I get really into watching terrible MTV shows

pre-game ritual?
I used to have way too many, it was getting out of control, so when I got to
college I stopped
What is your major
& why?
Music, because there’s nothing that makes me happier than playing, listening
to, composing, and studying music. Spanish because I fell in love with
the culture and it’s interesting to see how language influences culture and vice
versa
What do you want to
be when you grow up?
A touring musician. Yeah, I know it’s unlikely
