Junior (2017-18): Rowed in the second varsity throughout her junior year … helped her boat take third (6:45.4) at the Doc Hosea Invitational … her crew finished in fourth place (6:51.06) at Sprints … at the Ivy League Championship, her boat was sixth (7:18.96) in the Grand Final.
Sophomore (2016-17): CRCA Scholar-Athlete … rowed in the first varsity all season … helped Dartmouth win the Parents Cup by defeating Cornell for the first time since 2014 (6:50.6) … placed fourth in the Grand Final at Sprints (6:59.11) … beat Cornell to come first in final two and seventh overall at Ivies (6:30.35).
Freshman (2015-16): Rowed in the 3-seat of the varsity 8 that defeated BU and UMass (6:36.9) … at Sprints, she was the 7-seat in the second varsity that was third in the Grand Final (7:22.22) … helped her boat take second in the Petite Final (7:03.58) at Ivies … earned the team’s Martha Beattie ’76 Award.
Before Dartmouth: Eight-time letter winner in rowing and basketball at Phillips Academy … captain of the basketball team as a senior … won gold at NEIRAs as the four seat in the 8 … basketball All-Star Team … Robert L. Wirster Award … Keye's Prize.
Personal: Cara Cavanaugh is the daughter of Richard and Ann Cavanaugh … has one brother and one sister.
