Anders Corbett completed his first year as an assistant coach in 2019-20 during a season shortened by COVID-19.
Corbett has done it all. The founder and CEO of his own biotech company, Craft Microbiome, and a Forbes 30 Under 30 finalist in Science and Healthcare in 2017, Corbett has spent his most recent years working as a research fellow under a National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Trainingship at the University of Massachusetts Boston.Â
Â
A 2016 founding board member at the Manchester Rowing Alliance, a nonprofit after-school rowing program for high-risk, under-privileged teens on the Merrimack River in Manchester, Corbett coached all novice junior boys and girls during his three years with the program. Â
Â
As a walk-on to the University of Wisconsin men's rowing program, Corbett graduated in 2010 with a degree in history and was a four-year member of the team, earning his way to being part of the 2008 EARC and IRA championship squads. Â
Â
Corbett spent two years training with the Men's Lightweight Senior National team at the Olympic Training Center in OKC in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games and competed in the LM8+ at the 2012 World Rowing Championships in Bulgaria. He is currently on leave from completing his PhD in Marine Science and Technology from the University of Massachusetts.
