A four-time US Rowing National Team member, Kendall Brewer enters her first season as Dartmouth assistant coach in 2023-24. A standout with the Michigan Wolverines, Brewer is a two-time world champion and a world record holder.
"I couldn't be more excited about Kendall joining us here in Hanover," said Big Green head coach John Graves. "My wife, Felice, and I have known Kendall since her time as a standout athlete at Michigan and have always been impressed, not only by her world class boat moving ability, but also by her knack for bringing the best out of everyone around her. As a podium finisher at NCAAs and multi-time U23 World Champion, Kendall has first-hand experience of what it takes to compete at the highest level of women's rowing as well as how to foster championship-level team culture.
"When I thought about what our staff and team needed out of this role, Kendall felt like the perfect fit," Graves continued. "We are so lucky to have her and I cannot wait to see the impact she will have on Dartmouth women's rowing!"
While at Michigan, Brewer was a three-time Pocock Team All-American (second team in 2016 and first team in 2017 and 2018). She was also a three-time CRCA All-Region honoree, three-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree and 2018 Big Ten Co-Athlete of the Year. At the 2017 NCAA Championships, she competed in the varsity eight that finished in fifth place with a time of 6:44.812. Brewer helped Michigan to a third-place team finish in 2016.
In the classroom, Brewer was a CRCA Scholar-Athlete and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
"I am thrilled and honored to have the chance to work with Dartmouth women's rowing," said Brewer. "It is clear that this is a special program and John has an exciting vision for the team. I'm looking forward to learning from him and the rest of the staff, as well as applying my experience to help contribute to the success of the student-athletes, on and off the water. I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I can't wait to get to work and meet the team!"
Brewer has extensive experience with USRowing, highlighted by winning multiple U23 world championships in 2016.
