Role model – My grandfather has always been one of my role models. He attacked everything he did with perseverance and determination, while maintaining the utmost graciousness and humility. His compassion for his friends and family, as well as his dedication to everything that he did are qualities I strive to emulate.
Why rowing? – My sister first introduced me to rowing, having been a coxswain for a couple years before me. After that, I fell in love with the sport and the community it introduced me to. Coxing is a unique role in which you get to push yourself to be the best you can be, while simultaneously pushing those around you to do the same, and I think that is extremely gratifying. Being able to pursue excellence alongside inspiring teammates, including many of my best friends, is a rare opportunity that I feel lucky to have in rowing.
Why Dartmouth? - When I visited Dartmouth, everyone seemed so passionate, about both their studies/extracurriculars and the school itself. It made me realize that I wanted a school where everyone was not only extremely dedicated and hardworking, but passionate about that work and their environment.
Fun fact – I collect snow globes and have upwards of 50.
