Dartmouth Women's Lacrosse Thumps James Madison, 18-5

Casey Hazel (Reisterstown, Md.) had a career day with five goals and two assists, leading the No. 12 Dartmouth women's lacrosse team to an 18-5 victory over unranked James Madison on Saturday. The game was played in Wellington, Florida at Village Park in a feature game of the CSTV SpringFling Women's Lacrosse event.
The first six minutes of the game were evenly played before the Big Green pulled away for a 12-3 advantage at halftime.
Also having a five-goal game was junior
Jen Pittman (New Canaan, Conn.). The matchup was played at the Polo Fields in West Palm Beach.
Dartmouth goalkeeper
Devon Wills (Denver, Colo.) had a strong outing, making eight saves and allowing only four Richmond goals. Big Green sophomore
Ashley Heist (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) saw her first action of the season, playing the final three minutes and giving up just one goal.
The victory pushed Dartmouth to 3-1. Also scoring were sophomore
Kristen Barry (Duxbury, Mass.) and junior
Sarah Szefi (Pittsburgh, Pa.), both with a pair of goals.
Big Green senior defender Lizzy Cuneo (Summit, N.J.) scored the first goal of the game and the first of her career. Dartmouth won the draw and Cuneo fired the initial shot on goal before the ball rebounded back to her for a second chance.
Also rounding out the scoring were sophomore Kate LaBrum (Wallingford, Pa.), junior
Margo Duke (Englewood, Colo.) and junior
Whitney Douthett (Newtown, Pa.).
The Big Green now heads to Maryland for a March 21 meeting with the No. 7 Terrapins.
