Women's Crew Takes Second in the Class of 1984 Award

SCHUYLKILL RIVER, Pa. ? Dartmouth took second place as Princeton won the Class of 1984 Award, finishing six seconds ahead of the Big Green. Penn took third in the Varsity Eight race.
The Tigers won the Varsity Eight with a time of 6:37.3. Dartmouth finished the 2000-meter race in 6:43.1 and Penn a distant third at 6:54.3.
The Big Green won their only event of the day by six-and-a-half second over the Quakers in the Freshman Eight, 7:01.5 to 7:07. Penn returned the favor in the Freshman Four, winning in nine seconds, crossing the finish in a time of 7:53.5 to Dartmouth's 8:02.5.
Princeton won every other race they competed in Saturday. They won the highly competitive Second Eight in a time of 6:49. Each boat finished within six seconds of each other as the Big Green finished in 6:52.2 and Penn in 6:55.2.
The Varsity Four was also a close finish with the Tigers taking the victory in 7:36.2. The Quakers finished in second place with a time of 7:42, two seconds ahead of Dartmouth.
Princeton took home the Second Varsity Four in 7:48.6. The Big Green took second (8:01.6) and Penn brought up the rear (8:14.6).
Dartmouth will return to the water May 2 at Cornell.
