THIS WEEKEND
After a dominant performance to open the season last weekend, the Dartmouth women's rugby team will be looking for another win this Saturday when it takes on defending national champion Quinnipiac. Fans can watch the match between the NIRA's top two teams live.
LAST TIME OUT
Camille Johnson was on fire, scoring four tries and adding six conversions for a total of 32 points, helping lead the Big Green to a 76-5 victory over Notre Dame College.
Dartmouth's rookies shined and scored a combined 30 points, with
Emily Henrich (3),
Sophia Haley (2) and
Sophie Ragg (1) finding their way onto the scoresheet.
Kat Ramage also had a good day, ending up with nine points from a try and two conversions.
The Green controlled the action from start to finish, getting on the board less than five minutes in. Following tries by Ragg, Henrich, Haley and Ramage, and a pair of good conversions by Ramage, Dartmouth had a 29-0 advantage before the first half was done.
A strong second half was highlighted by all four of Johnson's tries scored in a 28-minute span and, with the addition of tries by Henrich, Haley and
Karina Martinez, and six successful conversions by Johnson, Dartmouth had a 76-0 advantage with time quickly winding down. With less than two minutes to go, the Falcons scored their only try of the match.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
The Bobcats had a tough time in their season opener over the weekend, falling to Harvard, 32-19. This is the first time in 15s history that the Crimson have defeated the reigning champs.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE BOBCATS
Dartmouth went 1-1 against Quinnipiac in 2017: in their home and season opener on Sept. 9, the Big Green took down the No. 1 team in the country by a score of 22-17, being led by
Frankie Sands with her two tries.
Lilly Durbin and
Idia Ihensekhien both had one try. Two months later, in Dartmouth's first showing in the NIRA Varsity Final, the Green narrowly fell to the Bobcats, 29-20. Durbin had two tries, while
Eva Klein and
Becca Jane Rosko each scored once.
NEXT UP FOR DARTMOUTH
The Big Green will be home for three matches in a row, starting next Saturday, Sept. 15 against Brown.
