The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team opens their 49
th season in program history on Saturday afternoon at in-state rival UNH.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Big Green last played on Apr. 25, 2021, as they fell to Tufts, 11-5, in their lone game in 2021.
- The Wildcats fell to Siena, 18-6, on Saturday in their season opener.
A LOOK AT THE BIG GREEN
- Dartmouth will be led by captains Emma Macaione, Becca Wade, Jazmyne Ward, and Anna Griffith.
- Nina Nesselbush, Victoria Norchi, and Jenna Donohue each scored for the Big Green against Tufts last season.
- Rosie McCarthy chipped in an assist.
- Tamer Luzi played all 60 minutes against Tufts last season, making 13 saves.
- Josie Harper Head Coach Alex Frank added nine freshmen to the team ahead of the 2022 season: Gisele Todd, Callie Riabov, Maja Desmond, Boo Dewitt, Margaret Maruszewski, Katina Christensen, Meriwether Florence, Kourtney Bobb, and Haley Riabov.
FUN FACT
There are two sets of sisters on this year's women's lacrosse roster. The Ward sisters, Jazmyne and Jez, and the Riabov twins, Callie and Haley.
ADDITIONS TO THE STAFF
Frank added former Cornell and Ohio State standout
Mary Kate Bonanni to her staff in July 2021, making this Saturday her first game on the sidelines for the Big Green.
SCOUTING UNH
- UNH enters the weekend with a 0-1 record.
- Emily Curtis has two goals for the Wildcats, while Liv Dunn, Mackenzie MacEachern, Abby Cranney, and Delaney Pratt each have one goal.
- Dunn also has two assists. Allie Connerty and MacEachern each have one.
- Maria Hagan and Issy Torres combined for six saves in the opener.
