HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team fell to #22 UMass, 13-9, in non-conference action on Friday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field.

Dartmouth moves to 2-3 while UMass improves to 6-2.

Lucy Murray led all players in points after scoring a career-high five goals and adding in one assist.
Katina Christensen had two points with one goal and one assist while
Katie Elders,
Anna Griffith, and
Rosie McCarthy each had a goal.

Kendra Harbinger led UMass with four goals and one assist while Fiona McGowan, Amy Moreau, and Brinley Anderson each scored twice.

The Minutewomen opened the scoring just over a minute into the game when Amy Moreau put one past Dartmouth goaltender
Gisele Todd.
Lucy Murray tied it up a few minutes later when she burst down the left side before cutting towards goal and firing it into the back of the net for her fifth of the season.

UMass took the lead back by scoring another four before the end of the opening frame, including three in the final 3:19 to go up 5-1.

Dartmouth came out strong to begin the second quarter as
Katina Christensen scored a free position goal less than 90 seconds in to cut into the deficit. After the Minutewomen added another,
Lucy Murray scored two goals just 34 seconds apart midway through the second quarter to make it a two-goal game.

It was a back-and-forth affair in the third quarter with a total of seven goals. UMass opened the half with two goals before Murray scored her fourth at the 9:36 mark. After a fourth goal from Kendra Harbinger, the Big Green scored two in a row as
Rosie McCarthy grabbed the first of her Dartmouth career with a free-position goal and Murray scoring her fifth of the game and ninth of the season.

In a turn of events, it was scoreless through first 7:14 of the final period. Julia Smith scored her first of the game to extend the Minutewomen back up to four. UMass scored with just over five minutes remaining to give them their biggest lead of the game, making it 13-8.

The Big Green scored their first of the final frame when
Anna Griffith scored a free position goal with 3:03 to go.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the final three minutes, giving UMass the win.

Dartmouth is back in action on Monday as they travel to #5 Northwestern. The game will be available to stream on the Big Ten Network.
