CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team fell to No. 2 Boston College, 16-5, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
Dartmouth moves to 2-6 while Boston College improves to 10-1.
Katie Elders scored her fifth hat-trick of the season while
Jev Ward had her third multi-goal game this season.
Gisele Todd finished with 12 saves in goal for the Big Green.
Maja Desmond had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Caitlynn Mossman led Boston College with four goals and three assists. Belle Smith and Jenn Medjid both had three goals while Smith also chipped in two assists. Sydney Scales had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
The Eagles opened the scoring when Hollie Schleicher scored at the 9:02 mark to put Boston College up 1-0. The Big Green answered just 49 seconds later when
Jev Ward scored her eighth goal of the season to tie the game.
Katie Elders scored her team-leading 18
th goal of the year to give Dartmouth a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Boston College tied things up and then pushed the lead to 6-2 after outscoring Dartmouth 5-0 in the second quarter, including two goals from Caitlynn Mossman.
Elders scored her second goal of the game in third quarter before completing the hat-trick at the 5:22 mark in the fourth quarter. The Big Green scored the final two goals of the game through Elders and Ward scoring her second of the game with just three minutes remaining.
Dartmouth finishes out their four-game road stretch on Sunday at Harvard in Ivy League play. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
