HANOVER, N.H. – No. 9 Dartmouth lightweight rowing will compete for the Biglin Bowl on Saturday.
The Big Green will head to Cambridge to race against host Harvard, ranked eighth in the latest IRA poll, and No. 11 MIT.
The Dartmouth Rowing Club placed the Biglin Bowl in competition in 1955 to honor John A. Biglin, a professional oarsman who was the first coach of rowing at Dartmouth in 1873. Harvard won 44 times, MIT five and the Big Green's victories came in 1994, 2002 and 2006.
The event gets started bright and early, with the 4V setting off at 7 a.m. Other teams competing on the Charles that day are Boston University, Brown, Northeastern, Princeton and Sacred Heart.
Last weekend, Dartmouth raced in the Diamond Cup Challenge against Princeton and Delaware, and the Subin Bowl versus Columbia.
The Green will host Yale next Saturday, April 23, in the Durand Cup.
