HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team fell to twin-state rival Vermont, 14-3, in non-conference play on Wednesday evening at Scully-Fahey Field.

Dartmouth moves to 3-9 while Vermont improves to 11-3.

Katie Elders, and
Emma Macaione each scored for the Big Green. It was the first collegiate goal for Macaione.
Maja Desmond scooped four ground balls, caused two turnovers, and had six draw controls.

Leading the way for the Catamounts was Ava Vasile who finished with a game-high three goals and one assist for four points. Dani Paterno scored three goals while Grace Giancola finished with two goals and one assist.

The Catamounts scored twice in the opening frame through Ava Vasile, the first of which came at the 8:19 mark before adding her second just a few minutes later. Vermont scored their third of the game just 46 seconds in the second quarter to extend their lead.

Anna Griffith scored her seventh goal of the season to get the Big Green on the board with a free position goal midway through the second quarter. The Catamounts added three more in the quarter to take a 6-1 lead into halftime.

The Big Green scored the opener in the second half roughly three and a half minutes into the third quarter. After receiving a pass from behind the net from
Margaret Maruszewski,
Katie Elders sprinted towards goal and fired it into the back of the net for her 33
rd goal of the season.

Macaione scored Dartmouth's third goal midway through the fourth quarter. After a foul against the Catamounts, Desmond found Macaione, who ran through an opening in the Vermont defense and ripped a shot into the goal for her first collegiate tally.
