Â
Dartmouth moves to 3-7, 1-3 while Columbia drops to 2-9, 0-3.
Â
Katie Elders led the way for the Big Green, setting a new career-high with seven goals and two assists for nine points. Her nine points ties the program record for points in an Ivy League game.
Â
Katina Christensen and
Jev Ward also had career-highs for goals with seven and four, respectively.
Anna Griffith had three points with two goals and one assist.
Maja Desmond led in ground balls (3) and caused turnover (2).
Â
Dani Falcone scored two goals for the Lions.
Â
The Big Green wasted no time getting on the board as Elders scored the opening goal just 21 seconds into the game. After Columbia tied it up with a free position goal, Dartmouth scored five unanswered goals to push the lead to 5-1, with Elders adding three more and one from both
Katina Christensen and
Jev Ward. Elders finished the quarter with four goals and
Jev Ward also finished with a hat-trick.
Â
The nine goals scored by Dartmouth in the first quarter were the most they have scored in a single quarter this season.
Â
The scoring calmed down a bit in the second quarter, with the Big Green outscoring the Lions, 4-2. Christensen and
Lucy Murray opened the scoring inside the opening four minutes of the quarter to push the lead to 11-2. Christensen completed her hat-trick at the 5:24 mark in the quarter before Ward scored her fourth of the game just before halftime.
Â
Dartmouth kept the scoring going as they scored another five in the third, outscoring Columbia, 5-1. Elders and Christensen both scored twice, bringing their totals to six and five, respectively, for the game.
Anna Griffith also scored for the Big Green in the third, her second of the game. The Lions scored just before time expired to avoid being shutout in the period.
Â
At the 13:20 mark in the fourth, Elders' seventh goal gave her nine points for the day, tying the program record in an Ivy League game. Christensen scored two more to set a new career-high with seven goals in a single game.
Â
The 22 goals scored by the Big Green was one shy of tying the program record for goals scored in an Ivy League. The record, 23, has happened twice, the last of which occurred on April 27, 2019, in a 23-9 victory at Yale.
Â
Dartmouth looks to continue this form as they head to Princeton next Saturday for an Ivy League matchup. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
