WASHINGTON, D.C. – Georgetown scored 12 goals over the first three quarters en route to a 13-8 win over the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Cooper Field. Dartmouth falls to 2-4 for the season and Georgetown improves to 5-5.

Isabella Godsick and
Catherine Erb both scored twice for the Big Green.
Lucy Murray,
Katina Christensen,
Samantha Bennett, and
Maya Kendall each scored once. Bennett chipped in two assists to finish with three points. Godsick led all players with five draw controls while the Big Green combined for seven caused turnovers.

Erin Bakes led all scorers with three goals while finishing with two assists for five points. Kylie Hazen scored two and assisted two and Katie Goldsmith scored two goals for the Hoyas. Emily Gaven, Leah Warehime, and Emma Spraggins combined to make 15 saves in net. Nicole Massimino had three caused turnovers for Georgetown.

The Hoyas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just a few minutes into the contest before taking a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Dartmouth came out for the second quarter on the front foot, scoring two of the first three goals of the frame. Murray shifted her way through the Georgetown defense and fired a shot into the back of the net to get the Big Green on the board just 35 seconds into the quarter. After the Hoyas scored at the 9:43 mark, Godsick scored her first collegiate goal just 17 seconds later from the free position.

Georgetown rattled off four straight goals to push the lead to six.
Maya Kendall scored with under 90 seconds remaining in the half to halt the Hoyas scoring run. After scooping up a loose ball inside the arc, Kendall immediately ripped a shot towards goal to earn her first collegiate goal.

Christensen opened the scoring for the second half with a free position goal to bring the Big Green within four.

The Hoyas utilized a five-goal spurt over the remainder of the third quarter and the early portion of the fourth quarter to take a 13-4 lead.

The Big Green started to chip away at the deficit just 22 seconds later. Godsick began the restart just shy of the midfield circle, and carried the ball straight towards goal, making her way through the Georgetown defense before tucking home the shot to cap off the incredible solo effort with her second goal of the game.
Dartmouth scored the final three goals of the contest, one from Bennett and two from Erb. Midway through the quarter, Bennett spun around the defender to create enough space to fire a shot into the goal for her fourth of the season.

Erb scored the final two goals, both assisted by Bennett, to bring her season tally up to nine. The two goals were nearly identical as Bennett, positioned behind the goal, made the pass in the middle to Erb for the quick shot into the back of the net.

The Big Green held a 15-10 advantage in draw controls and a 17-13 edge in ground balls.

Dartmouth returns to Ivy League play on Saturday in Connecticut against Yale. Opening draw against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
