Rawlinson of Heavyweight Rowing Named Academic All-Ivy

HANOVER, N.H. — For his success on the water and in the classroom, senior Felix Rawlinson has been named Academic All-Ivy, as announced Friday. A neuroscience and biology double major, Rawlinson is a member of the Varsity Eight that reached the grand finals in Sunday's Eastern Sprints.

Rawlinson owns an impressive 3.75 grade point average while also excelling on the water. Over the winter term, he was in Auckland, New Zealand training and while there, he conducted cancer research at the University of Auckland.

In Sunday's Eastern Sprints, the Big Green finished second in their heat, only behind Princeton. Dartmouth then found itself in the midst of a tight grand final, finishing fifth — ahead of Brown while just over five seconds behind first-place Yale. In this week's IRCA/IRA Men's Collegiate Rowing poll, the Varsity Eight is ranked eighth nationally, as is the team.

After a strong showing at sprints which saw three Dartmouth boats medal and two others reach the grand finals, the Big Green now look ahead to the IRA National Regatta June 2-4 in Mercer County, New Jersey.
