ITHACA, N.Y. – Katina Christensen led all scorers with five points, but the Dartmouth women's lacrosse suffered a 15-13 loss to Cornell in the Ivy League opener on Saturday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field.

Fiona O'Keeffe each scored twice for the Big Green and O'Keeffe also chipped in two assists to finish with four points.

Dartmouth falls to 2-2 while Cornell moves to 3-1.

Holding a 9-6 halftime lead, the Big Red outscored the Big Green 5-2 over the first 12 minutes of the third quarter to make it a 14-8 game. The Big Green scored two quick goals, coming from Murray and Christensen to cut the deficit to four. Cornell scored with two seconds on the clock in the third to bring a five-goal lead into the fourth.

Dartmouth started to chip away at the lead right at the start of the final quarter when
Jenna Donohue tallied her first goal of the campaign inside the first minute. Christensen and
Fiona O'Keeffe also scored in the quarter to bring the Big Green within two. Cornell was able to shut down the Dartmouth offense over the final 4:30 of the game to hold on for the win.

The Big Red jumped out to a 2-0 lead through goals from Josie Vogel and Alex Donahoe. The Big Green scored its first goal of the afternoon when Christensen scored a woman-up free-position goal midway through the opening quarter.

After Cornell scored to take a 3-1 lead, Dartmouth scored two-straight goals to even it at 3-3. Elders tallied her first goal of the day after
Fiona O'Keeffe made the pass inside to Elders for the quick finish. Less than two minutes later, Erb scored from the free position to tie the game.

The Big Red scored two goals in the final 13 seconds of the opening quarter and once inside the first minute of the second frame to take a 6-3 lead.

Elders stopped the Cornell scoring run midway through the second when she tallied her second goal of the game. Elders received the ball near midfield and carried it all the way towards goal, before ripping a shot past Big Red goalkeeper Ellie Horner. Cornell extended the lead to five, but goals from Murray and Erb in the final two minutes of the first half cut the deficit down to three.

Dartmouth returns to Scully-Fahey Field on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup against UMass. Opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet. Tickets are available for purchase through the Dartmouth Athletics ticket office.
