LEAGUE HOME OPENER
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team hosts Yale for the home league opener. Due to snow in the forecast, the game has now been moved to Sunday, March 24 with a 12 p.m. start time.
TWO WINS IN CALIFORNIA
Going 2-0 in the Golden State, Dartmouth captured its first win on the West Coast trip against San Diego State on Friday, 20-8. On Monday, the Big Green earned its first win over a ranked opponent this season defeating No. 17 USC by a 17-12 margin to wrap up the California series.
In the two games,
Katie Elders finished with nine goals and one assist.
Katina Christensen netted seven goals and three assists.
Catherine Erb also put seven goals in the back of the cage. Team assists leader
Fiona O'Keeffe finished with three goals and five assists.
Maya Kendall earned a career-high snagging 13 draw controls against SDSU collecting 12 draw controls in both games.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper
Gisele Todd collected 12 saves between the pipes. The team collected 17 ground balls.
AROUND THE LEAGUE
Elders is fourth in the Ivy League in goals per game with 3.57 and is seventh in points per game at 4.14. Christensen sits at sixth in goals per game with 3.33 and is among the top five at points per game at 4.50. O'Keeffe is also at fourth for assists per game with 2.14 while sitting at eighth in points per game with 4.00.
Maya Kendall is currently fourth in draw controls per game with 5.00. Todd leads the league in ground balls per game with 2.71 and in saves per game with 8.71.
SCOUTING YALE
Yale comes into Saturday's game with a 7-0 overall record and a 1-0 record in league play and coming in at No. 16. The Bulldogs come off a 14-8 win over Rutgers on Sunday in non-conference action.
Jenna Collignon leads Yale with 21 points, with 19 goals and two assists. Sky Carrasquillo trails behind with 19 points on 16 goals and three assists. Fallon Vaughn leads the Bulldogs in assists with 10 while also boasting 10 goals. Taylor Lane leads Yale with 37 draw controls.
In seven appearances, goalie Laura O'Connor has 40 saves with a .440 save percentage and 7.29 goals against average.
In the last match-up, Yale edged Dartmouth, 11-9 in March last year.
PROMOTION
Dartmouth will host Youth Lacrosse Day this Sunday. All kids ages 17 and under wearing a lacrosse jersey will get in for free.
