HANOVER, N.H. -The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team hit some major milestones en route to its 20-9 win over Siena on Tuesday at Scully-Fahey Field.
Katina Christensen fired five goals into the net, the most in a single game this season, and surpassed 100 career goals. Additionally, the Big Green are 4-0 to start the season for the first time since 2020.
"It's no surprise, we knew it was going to happen in one of these games and she's someone who, during this game, definitely found opportunities and put the ball in the back of the net," Dartmouth head coach Alex McFadden said. "Her teammates really support her every day and really help her become the best version of herself,"
Christensen said she wasn't aware that she was close to this milestone, but she gave credit to her teammates for creating opportunities and her coaches for their support. When asked how it felt to hear her achievement broadcast on the PA system, she explained it simply.
"I'd like to get more. It feels great, but wins feel better." Christensen said.
The Big Green's second home game of the season began as a back-and-forth battle with the Saints. Throughout the first half, neither team had a lead larger than two points. The pair went into halftime with a 6-4 score leaning in Dartmouth's favor.
Entering the second half, the Saints evened the score again before the Big Green gained control it wouldn't relinquish for the rest of the game, going on a 13-3 run. Siera's Sydney Hannes scored a goal in an attempt to chip away at the 10-point deficit, but Desmond scored a free-position goal to seal the Saints' fate.
The Big Green will travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. next Tuesday to face the reigning national champion, Boston College, at 5:30 p.m.
