FOLSOM, Calif. – Dartmouth's heavyweight rowing team competed in the final day of the 2026 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship Sunday. The final day of the regatta was highlighted by a 5
th place finish in the 1V and a 6
th place finish in the overall team points ranking (206). This marked the second year in a row the Big Green's top eight was represented in the Grand Final.
The Big Green's sixth place finish is their best since 2022 when they finished fifth.
Dartmouth competed in three races on Sunday, beginning with the second 3V Final. The Big Green picked up the win in the Petite Final, finishing in 5:52.352, nearly three seconds faster than second place Penn and over 5.5 seconds faster than the final finisher, Northeastern. The win in the Petite Final secured seventh place overall for Dartmouth's 3V.
The 2V raced in the petite final as well, finishing sixth, good for an overall 12th place finish.
In the final race of the regatta, the Big Green's top line-up used a solid third 500 push to move through Stanford and secure a 5
th place national ranking. The 1V entered the national championships ranked seventh overall so a fifth place finish represented significant improvement from the regular season.

Wyatt Allen said. "To finish 5th Nationally in the varsity eight, 6th Nationally as a team, and third as a team in the Ivy League is a great accomplishment in any year; this year, in particular, is the deepest and most competitive I can remember."
Dartmouth wraps the 2026 IRA National Championship with 206 total points and comes back to Hanover with its best championship finish in four years.
