Q & A with Jameson Billings
Why Dartmouth?
On my visit I was immediately struck by the sense of balance that I saw everywhere. The guys on the team were smart and competitive, yet also easygoing and friendly. The main draw for me was the fact that I knew I could be an involved member of the community on many levels.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I started rowing the spring of my junior year at Groton after a shoulder injury ended my baseball career. Since I was tall, I’d been getting pressure from guys on the team to try it since day 1. I finally gave in, and I’m really glad I did.
Have you won any awards?
In my first year rowing, I won gold medals at NEIRAs and the Wayland-Weston Regatta.
