Taylor Black was named an assistant coach with the Dartmouth heavyweight rowing team in August of 2017.Â
This will be Black's second stint at the Friends of Dartmouth Rowing Boathouse, having served as an assistant on the lightweight rowing team from 2014-16. He spent the past year in the college’s development office as the assistant director for athletics fundraising.
Black began rowing at Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, and continued his career with the Cornell lightweight team. While in Ithaca, Black won a gold and silver medal at Eastern Sprints, as well as a silver medal at the IRA Regatta. Black was elected captain his senior year and was awarded the “Coaches Award” for his dedication and service to the program.
He graduated from Cornell in 2013 with a degree in American studies.
